美国大学综排前60的学校中大概只有20个左右的学校开设了金融的项目，按照他们的录取难度以及项目质量大致可以分为以下几档：

需要注意的是，以往金融项目是没有资格获得OPT的，但是近两年，在各个学校的努力下，很多学校的金融项目都取得了STEM的资格，能够让毕业生在找到工作后获得36个月的OPT，增加了留美工作的可能性，所以在选择学校的时候既要考虑项目本身的质量，录取人数以及地理位置，也要多多考虑项目对于未来就业的影响，从而挑选适合自己的学校。

金融专业在美国通常分为三类：

类是纯金融(MSF，Master of Science in Finance)，该专业更倾向于数量分析，那么对你的数学成绩要求会比较高，当然，在MSF的课程设置上也会略微掺杂一些管理课程如财务管理、企业战略 等，美国前100的学校中开设MSF的还不到50所学校。

由此可见，申请难度之大竞争率之高啊!

第二类是MBA下的金融方向，该专业更倾向于管理方面的课程设置，真正涉及金融方面的课程不会太深入，所以相对于MSF来讲更广泛化。如果你将来意向在金融方面有所发展的，不建议选MBA下的金融方向。

第三类是金融工程，该专业是衔接了金融学、数学和计算机科学的交叉学科，那么金融工程下也分为金融工程、数量金融、金融数学和计算机金融四个方面，其课程设置是由大学的商学院、数学系和工程学院联合授课的，学习难度较大，申请难度当然无疑来说更大。
